As time approaches to Black friday the newspaper will have advertisements that will show electronic discounts. Be sure to look online as well.

try searching online for black friday 2008 ads, some list the sales that will be going on the day day after thanksgiving.
i’ve seen laptops as much as half off, usually they’re slightly out of date (not top of the line, but still great). typically, the stores will select one or two specific ones to be “blitz” items like that.
generally, if i am understanding what you’re asking, you’ll find a “medium range” laptop anywhere around $400. give or take a hundred or two.
